ProxyCap allows you to block applications that do not support protocols via the SOCKS4, SOCKS5, and HTTPS protocols. This allows you to transparently send applications through an SSH server without having to open an SSH client or reconfigure the application. Read more here. The software uses advanced network capture and forwarding capabilities that allow ProxyCap to reliably tunnel through any system connected to the Internet. DNS name resolution can make the difference between local and proxy actions. Proxycap performs remote DNS name resolution (proxy side) with the proxy and SSH server.
This allows proxy authentication without the need for user credentials such as usernames, passwords, or private keys. With the SSO authentication mechanism, ProxyCap authenticates to the proxy server using the credentials you enter into your network. It also supports IPv6, the next-generation Internet protocol that is set to replace IPv4.
